There was a time when I thought reviving would be beyond hope; I saw Google groups and newsgroups get overcrowded with spam, and no admins to clear it up. I am so happy to not see that problem here.

Facebook is good for posting videos.  For long conversation threads it's terrible.  I miss the mailing list too, but a forum would be the best in-between choice.  It organizes things into topics that are easier to find, but it doesn't do that "relevancy" folderol Facebook thinks is helpful but I find extremely annoying.  But it takes effort and expense to host a forum while Facebook is free, so here we are.
