On bass guitar: To me, as the Wailers' Wire Lindo said of his Hammond organ, my bass guitar is a 'percussion instrument'. Like a percussionist I administer a fair amount of tough love--my bass's name is spanky. It's also a relationship of intimacy. A bass just feels good in my hands whether it's shrieking, booming or a '78 Buick with a bad tranny. It is my aim to make the audience feel that same joy and wonder of possiblity I get when I strap a bass click on the amp on and contemplate tearing open the silence.

On Looping and Technology: The loopers and effects I use are just are only tools, just a color on the pallet. If I let them get in the way of, or become the music, I have failed myself and my audience... Damn if it isn't half the fun though!

On singing and songwriting: Playing bass and using technology have always been easy for me. Singing has been a hard won talent for me. The fruits of my labors have been stumbling onto throat singing and a side of myself that I didn't know existed. Writing songs is simply something that can't be helped.
