Re: RME driver bluescreen ( Interface recommendations )

I don't think the RME drivers are that wonderful. Audio is great yes, but they wreck havoc frequently on my system.

I have an RME Fireface 800 connected via Firewire to my Windows 7 64 bit system, and I get blue screen crashes fairly often when I turn off the Fireface after having used an ASIO audio application that is still running.

I was told by RME I need to 'detach' the Fireface device first, which I think is a lame answer, other devices don't crash my system if I forget to do that. And yes that helps usually although its a pain to try to remember, but I STILL have gotten crashes after doing that. Bad driver coding, obviously an 'unhandled exception' in code speak.

I plan to ditch RME for that reason, I've waited two years now and the most recent driver update didn't fix it.
