multi-effects pedals

Hi All,
Since I have "limited resources" (i.e. I am broke) and
play bass as well as guitar, I was curious if anyone
had an opinion on whether I should buy a bass or
guitar multi effects pedal, which could at least sound
decent with both guitar and bass? (I guess I'm asking
does bass sounder better through a guitar pedal or
vice versa?) Thank you.
