Quick followup observation:

I find that the highest string does not sustain as easily as the lower
strings.  I believe it is because the guitar came set up with 009s.  As 
with
the E-bow, this technology seems to work better with thicker strings.  I'm
adding "replace strings with 011s" to my little list of modifications to 
make
to my new axe.
