A couple of approaches to try for an old reel: - Ebay. Reel to reel recorders crop up there all the time, old Akai's, Technics, etc. If you're willing to spend for a decent used or reconditioned unit. - If you're handy with repairs, there are places like Parts Express and MCM Electronics that stock a decent variety of belts, idler tires, etc. - "rubber rejuvenator", also stocked by PE/MCM. This worked quite well on my dad's 25 year old Akai. HTH!
