The only piece of musical gear that I've owned for 22 years and that has NEVER caused a problem is my Carvin guitar. Seems to have been quite well built to me. I suffer ridicule regularly from people with Strats and Les Pauls, then they hear the damn thing and they shut up. That periods (80's) fat sounding pickups are not in vogue now, but they really help make a warm sound if your signal travels through a bunch of gear.
