I agree, and I think that most people agree that at best, the Roland Guitar Synth sounds are fair. With enough layering and effects they can be passable, but why bother when there's a world of great synths out there. I find the tracking with my G-50 to be pretty good and it also doesn't take up additional floor space. There are even better Axon models now, but Yamaha seems out of that business more or less. One word of advise, when looking for a synth, try and find one that will allow a 24 + or - pitch bend range for the best results. My Roland XV-5050 does this, but my Korg MS2000R does not.
