My original thinking of this was that I was in a sense controlling the Repeater with the DR770 in terms of MIDI clock, hence the tendancy to put them on the same channel. I suspect that's a mistake that's been made a-plenty. Thinking of where I was when I was struggling with this, I already had different devices set on different channels. The TC G-Major for instance is on a different channel. However, I admit I was originally off the ball in not allowing the the MIDI clock is global and that I don't need to match channels to use it.
