I'm actually going toward rackmount stuff Re: T.C. G-system

Just great! Here I am transitioning from pedals to rackmount (esp. after
hearing what Ted K did with his Vortex) while the rest of you are segueing
the *other* direction...don't *I* feel like a chump! ;-)
But I got some great rack stuff for fire-sale prices recently, and I plan
to run it though my olde-tyme amps, even if I'm dialing up an amp
simulation upstream of the real amp. I figger I'll use stompboxes for most
gain-related live things, and my toy-based stompbox will have to stay
because there is nothing on earth, either analog or digital, that can do
what it does. Other than that, I figured that after 20 years of using
stompboxes I needed a change. There were sounds in my head that my little
zink boxes could not do. If I grow tired of it, I could always go back to
stompboxes...but it'd take 50 pounds of stompboxes to get what my mpx500,
VF-1, and Vortex can do....
And here's the main thing I tell myself....even if I'm going through a
SIMULATED tape echo, and a SIMULATED Plexi Marshall, and a SIMULATED plate
reverb, I AM REAL, and that realness will hopefully come through no matter
how much digital sleight of hand I decide to use.
Sonic Luv,
Tim
