While this particular psychedelic thread is still continuing, there  
is also this excellent book:

'Tripping, An Anthology of True-Life Psychedelic Adventures' by  
Charles Hayes  (pub. 2000)

A very well researched and written book three parts.
First part is a lengthy Introduction that is divided into 3 sections.
Part Two is a large collection of personal narratives from a lot of  
various folks about their "voyages into uncharted territories".
Part Three of the book has a very lengthy conversation with Terrence  
McKenna before his passing on and out of this Life.
