There are probably sustain differences due to wood, especially the
fingerboard wood, in solid bodies (tho you don't usually use really long
sustains in jazz gtr). I think the fingerboard may make a bit of a
difference. I have an unusual rosewood fingerboard on my solid body, and
(maybe it's my imagination) I think that helps the gtr be a little bit
warmer than one with a maple fingerboard.
