Since the program isn't that expensive, bought it and tried it out.  It 
works alright, and being able to save profiles is exactly what I wanted.

....however, as advertised, it is a "Startup" cop. It prevents a fair 
amount 
of programs from starting, yet doesn't prevent many associated background 
processes and services from starting.

Looks like version 3 is out now.  This one dumps support
for 95 and 98 and adds support for Vista.
