l'm also pleased with the LF response of the Zoom H4. Just don't go too close up to the sound source. When recording live sets I typical put the stereo mic set two or three meters from the two stereo speakers in a "sweet spot" position. This gave fully acceptable results for carrying out live recordings (as posted at http://www.jamendo.com/en/album/5370).
