Re: Using your USA gear in Europe

On the Mackie mixer you might have to change the fuse (sometimes
conveniently located next to the powerplug).
If the unit is switchable, switched or "autoswitch" and has a three
prong receptacle all you
have to do is change the power chord to a Eurostyle (two round prongs
and the ground is on the sides).
These should be available in any hardware, electrical supply, department
store in Vienna or maybe you
can have someone get them for you beforehand. (When you go shopping look
for
a "Kaufhaus", the "Haushaltswarenabteilung" and ask for "Netzkabel" or
"Gerätekabel" they shouldn't cost more
than 3-5 Euro or less). Other adapters and voltage converters sometimes
will omit the ground and are not recommended for musical
instruments. The Mac as you said should be fine with the universal
powersupply and the mac adapter.
Never use any of those hairdryer type transformers - they will blow
nothing else but your equipment.

At

you can see the type of plug used to get juice in most of Europe (WA-9).

Welcome and good luck in Europe
