Another vote for the RME Fireface products. Impeccable implementation, great sound, extreme flexibility. I was an Echo Audio devotee until I snagged a Fireface 800 on sale for a nanosecond at Mus's Friend; tried a MOTU briefly a few years ago and hated it; had an Emu 1212 and found the interface inscrutable and the build quality poor. That said, I also have an Indigo and it too is rock solid. They are two radically different beasts. In each case, you get what you pay for, but with the Indigo be aware that what you lose in paying low $ is not reliability or audio quality, but flexibility and features. I think te Motu and FW400 are your best bets. You get what you pay for, in most cases.
