pitch shift demo and randomness (was :Re: pitch shifting and harmonizing again (emergency))
I wanted to post a demo of pitch shifting on individual vs. multi tracks and also shifting the heartbeat ..... to see who else does this sort of thing.
I have four loops here, and each on is set to pitch shift at the turn of a knob. Do other people do this often? I find it a nice way to tweek the loops.....
Take a listen to the track called "pitch shift" at www.aaronleese.com
Also, I have it set up so when I shift a loop, if it is the master, it causes the project "heartbeat" to speed up .... listen for the bass drum and notice how it speeds up when the pitch shift occurs (though it does not itself change in pitch). This is not using a midi clock, by the way ... the audio is just repeating early cause it sees the heartbeat increase ...... make sense? Do other people do that often? I don't think I heard much of it at Y2K7, but I missed plenty of performances ......
There is also some turntable-loopism in there, and some stuttering too ..... but you guys can pick all that out I'm sure.
Now I'm pretty sure you can do all this in Ableton and Mobius too, minus the turntable ... can someone confirm this though? Perhaps with a recording?
