Well, because computers have a way of behaving 100 times consistently and 
then completely screwing up the 101st time... ;-)

But seriously imagine this: Before a gig, you're sitting in a hotel room 
in the middle of nowhere... And your little macmini just doesn't work 
properly. For no reason whatsoever! You start sweating, soundcheck is 
soon.... Again, you panic and there is no screen around. You don't know 
what the hell is wrong...

Is this scenario so unrealistic? Do you really want to risk being in this 
place?
With a laptop, at least you could find a workaround in time.

I'm not trying to be sarcastic. Especially now that the new MacBook has no 
Firewire, a decent Macmini _could_ be an option for me.
But the above scenario is what I fear and computers just have screwed up 
too often for me to trust them without screen+keyboard.

What do you think?
