Looks like I did not help. ;-)
Routing and software mixer stuff is not always obvious.
You need more specific info regarding firebox/kp3, it would not hurt  
to ask at the Ableton forums.

This subject is sort of OT.
Let me excavate my KP2 and I will email you directly offlist.
