hi Raul, Yep, it's a pity about the pre-amps on the H2. Actually, the onboard mics don't have that problem, so I wonder where the quality loss comes in. You could always hack a couple of connections into the H2 so that your capsules would connect into the circuit at the point where the Zoom capsules do now. With an external pre-amp, you'd be relying on the quality of the Zoom line-In anyway. If you go the DIY pre-amp route, why not use a dedicated pre-amp chip like SSM2017 (or whatever replaces that these days). Simple circuits on the datasheet for the chip. andy Raul Bonell wrote: > may anybody point me to some europe based net shop where to look for a > clean portable stereo electret preamp? i'd like to continue using the > core sound binaurals. > > btw, i came across this diy website about audio preamp circuits. in >english. > > http://www.pardell.es/audio_preamp.HTM > > 2009/7/30, Raul Bonell <raul.bonell@gmail.com>: >> i get the CSB from core sound by len moskowitz who modified some >> cheapo panasonic capsules so that they could handle more pressure... i >> used it extensively with a minidisc which had a nice built in preamp, >> but i sold it, and now tried to do the same with the zoom h2 which >> resulted in noisy recordings since the plugin power preamp is shit. >> >> 2009/7/30, Michael Peters <mp@mpeters.de>: >>>> Would love to hear about other's experiences with binaurals? >>> I know that Georgina Brett used them for outdoors recordings a lot >>> http://www.myspace.com/georginafbrett >>> >>> -Michael >>> >>> >> >> -- >> Raul Bonell at Blogger: http://raulbonell.blogspot.com >> Chain Tape Collective: http://www.ct-collective.com >> > >
