Interesting thread! My main interest for now is not to record acoustic
sound with binaural technique but to simulate that 3d listening
experience when mixing music. Of course this is just "mixing for head
phones" but I think headphones listening is becoming so common now
that it might make sense to offer binaural music? As my recent
experimentation goes such a mix will not sound bad in any way over a
speaker system. I am very excited with the possibility to place sound
"above" or "below" as well as moving sound with doppler effects etc.
Some of the surround thinking also applies for binaural sound design.
