Burning Man's Decompression event in San Francisco is this Sunday: http://www.burningman.com/blackrockcity_yearround/special_events/decompression/decom2009.html I'm scheduled to set up the interactive music controllers of my Monolith 2.0 installation for people to play with. It's a two-person instrument, basically two independent 5-track loopers with bunches of pads (including multitouch ones) to play notes, chords, and drums. The two loopers share enough information (like tempo, scale, and key) so that they don't conflict musically, but otherwise they're independent. Lots of options to control the sounds, scales, key, loop lengths and fading, save/load loops, audio effects, etc. No pre-composed music. People enjoyed it a lot out on the playa, day and night. Flickr photos, my own photos, and a youtube video here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/burningman:art=486/ http://blueparticles.com/particles/album/burningman2009/ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHZveIJjxJ0 They're trying to make Decompression more of a daytime event this year - it opens at noon. ...Tim...
