I'm not sure that's what he means at all.

So to paraphrase:
"Recorded music is no longer such a large source of money as it
 has recently been. Therefore as a source of income it will be
  replaced by something else."

Presumably he's hinting that "something else" may be software
that generates music, like his own Bloom.
