Re: 5 Compositional rules update, here's the student work
As far as I understood it, the concept was to appropriate, use and abuse via samples or melody, to not only teach music software, but to address that interesting subject. As such it would make complete sense to me that they should choose the most obvious and well known pieces, so that some seed of the original shone thru in the new piece and made this point clear. Using some obscure sonata that only a composition student would know, would be defeating the point.
I thought the results were very cool and interesting Margeret!!!
