Re: Live looping with bass and vocals.

great man! i was wondering because i like the way your looping flows, very song oriented and most simple pedal loopers out there dont have the capibility to do song parts, though with the simple undo redo feature on the M9 you can do a lot.
Ive been checking out the new Digitech jamman stereo,i was really excited when i saw the labeled pedals "loop up/ loop down" i thought wow finally somebody is thinking song looping yeah! but i dont think you can go straight from a recorded loop into a new empty loop in record mode,it seems to be more just for pre-stored loops and scroll through them,bummer...
Im also waiting on the rang,i havent bought it because they have not done the update which has a lot of the features that are important to me,the EDP is still king but when you start playing a lot and travel in trains the rack thing becomes an issue,i also still dont feel that confident with a laptop.
is there anything you dislike so far about the Rang or think that is ackward when song looping?

Hi Louie,

After my last burn out at the Y2K9 with my Lappy and mobius I haven't
touched it. I had all these elaborate pieces that I learned to play
backwards and then reversed them, and some really cool spacey stuff going
on in stereo using different channels. I ended up with just one channel
and keeping my looping really basic.

I was really stressed about the whole thing, but it was great to meet all
those other loopers and the Walker Bros. really went out of their way to
find me some substitute gear.

I know that eventually I'll get back to my laptop setup. It definitely has
more options, but for now I'm happy with my Rang 3 and M9.

I have a small mixer and run both my vocals and bass through the m9 and
into the rang.

The m9 is used mostly for effects, loop reversing and speed shifting. I do
my ambient sounds with the m9 and then resample it with the rang.

The rang is used mostly for song structure. I can put down a rhythmic bed
on loop 1 and use that as a master for my A and B sections on loop 2 and
3.

Still experimenting with this combination and looking forward to the rang
update.
