Hi Mark,

tricky indeed.

try quantised replace on the LP1
and set the Q number to 1.
If you program a button to do the QReplace 
followed by putting the track into overdub
I think that covers it completely for the quantised version.
(the LP1 always waits for the qrep to finish before doing the 
  next command)

With Edp don't know if you can do a quantised TOG Replace  
and end it with overdub...I suspect maybe not, but worth a go.
