Hi Andy,
You mean the "Stereo Memory Man with Hazarai"? I checked this one
earlier this year but like you say, feedback is only adjustable while
overdubbing, so you can't fade out a loop while continue playing. At
least, not without using an additional switcher. And that's what I use
all the time. Anyway, that's why I still use a DD-20. Interesting
about the SMM is that looper supports reverse, speed etc and that you
can use the effects as a pre-looper and record them in the loop. The
DD-20 has 23 sec stereo delay time, with adustable feedback. It's a
great pedal though, very reliable too.
