thanks for this thought. I checked at the Moog
website and they do indeed recommend a certain type of strings for the Moog
guitar. Apart from their own brand (what a surprise ;-) ) they do recommend
GHS "Infinity Steel" Medium and a brand called Aurora Strings (which are hard to
find at regular shops here).
I compared the GHS strings to my D'Addario and the
interesting fact is, that the EXL110 D'Addario are nickel plated steel, while
the GHS are stainless steel. That might be a reason for a difference for the
Sustainer system. I will give the GHS a try and if there was an improvement, I
will post the results.
It seems that the gauge of the strings seem to be
of less importance, as Moog is offering 3 different types of gauge sets
themselves (.009 to .012 for high e-string and .046 to .052 for low
e-string).
