no, computers haven't taken over all of our world. If any software, then 
Mobius (by Jeff Larson, member of this list) and Augustus Loop (by 
Andrew Ostler aka Os, member of this list). And the Andy Butler you 
mention is still aboard...

Cool to have you back. I'm afraid I can't help you with any of your 
questions - but the critical mass is still there on LD.
