Shamen regularly use drugs to access the spirit world. It's part, but not all, of the techniques they use. Others being hypnotic drumming and dancing  to induce states of ecstacy - sound familiar?

Really?

But isn't 'drugs' kind of a useless term in this context?  Useless in
that it doesn't really convey enough information to begin to address
the magnitude of topic (which is now far afield from looping for
most).
