My Macbook pro is absolutely not as stable as my previous macbook white. I have the same problems as Todd Reynolds. It's rare but extremely frustrating issue and after troubleshooting it for a year I'm pretty sure it's a problem with the Turbo boost feature in the dual core i7 chips from last year's Macbook pro line. I can turn this feature off if I run Windows7 on the same macbook pro and I no longer have any issues. The turbo boost, and speed stepping reserve cpu for when you really need it but I think when those features kick in, it disturbs your audio stream. I have been calling/emailing apple constantly about my issues over the past year so we will see if anything is ever done about it. I have already tried everything thing else possible to get the Macbook pro not to glitch in OSX but nothing has worked..... even disabling one of the cpu's and hyperthreading! When the glitches happen the cpu usage can be as low as 14% . Only half of my ram being used. And again I can run the same software on the same hardware with a different operating system, without any problems.
