FWIW:
I've had odd unexplainable problems a couple of times since buying my first a few EDP months ago. It came Loop III and I upgraded right away.
Every time, I've got it sorted out by re-seating the Loop IV chips in their sockets.
I wonder if some kind of contact paste might help. I did try some MG spray and it seems to be working.
