Rather than an AB box for splitting I like the ErnieBall stereo volume/pan pedal. In pan it will take one input and blend to 2 different signal chains. I can get wah pedal effects with most any sound. I do wish both inputs would pan, but so far I haven't got it to work that way.  In volume mode it works well to control loop feedback on a rc-50.

I've seen various mono 4 channel line mixers out for cheap.
