But if you think about it - if playing a guitar through that plugin you might want to use the release value for controlling how long time after the note end was detected the next note will trigger the attack envelope from zero? I can easily imagine a song where you may want to play snappy 16 note chords (like a funky thing) with normal guitar string attack and also be able to fade in a chord now and then with a slower attack envelope. With the right "release" setting you actually can play that part; just stay silent for at least two 16 notes before throwing in the chord you want to swell.
