Re: Looper's Delight misconception

I spose that a joke Matt...--- theres only a parking site at livelooping.com

Seriously, what do people want there to be at LD.com???... cos IMNSHO we could just have a one page banner.. telling how to subscribe... who needs all this "tools of the trade?" or Artist profiles??? Really we all just google it or you tube it or Facebook it now anyway right?.. does a bunch of pages do anything at all to contributing to a community?

LD is and has always been about the mailing list, now THATS where it could do with some updates... not some dull site thats basically just showing ads.

1. LD should stay as it is (for folks what like it this way)
2. LD should be accessible from a web front end, that saves threads like forum threads.
3. LD mailing list should accept rich media, inline youtube links and images...
4. website...??? oh just kill it... or leave it there in memory of Kim...

So.. no ones gonna do that are they so lets just leave it...

Violet doesnt NEED to do anything to the site, or the mailing list... shes doing it just fine... why does everything have to be so fucking up to date...
I remember Loopers Delight when it was made of wood!

If you wanna do a forum, there is one!!! @ livelooping.org, theres a facebook group theres a youtube channel... jeesus... what more do you all want!!

honestly... why does anyone care that its a movement or a genre??? its not.. its a teensy weensy bit of technology that does something cool...
I wonder if those people on PhasersDelight.com have so much anguish?

M.

Speaking of which, I really should switch out all those 3 year old mp3s on my own website. :)

Sorry - about the artist profile thing. I tend to think a bit hard-assedly because on bayimproviser.com, about 2/3 of the venues have either closed or aren't booking improvised/experimental music anymore. Probably about 40% of the artists on the artists page aren't active anymore, or have moved out of the area.

I'm totally guilty on my LD artists page. It still says I'm 25, and has links to my mp3.com page. Ah, to be 25 again! I wouldn't even know how to log in again to update it, and frankly, I expect that people looking for my artist information will find it on my own website.

But, and update to loopers-delight.com isn't in the works. That's why some of the members of this list built livelooping.com instead.

Having a big resource is good, but when I land on a site, and see mostly content that's more than 3 years old, it starts feeling musty.
