Have you tried emulating your foot controller as a mackie control? You can easily assign a footswitch to undo this way.

It might sound geeky, but having a "delete clip" command in Ableton is one of the main differences between a DJ (trigger perfectly arranged clips/scenes) and Live Looping Artist (record loop, screw up, big time, oops... delete, DELETE...! ).
