RE: WHAT WERE WE DOING, MUSICALLY BEFORE WE LOOPED?

Great topic idea, I love a good reminisce .

I began with playing the keyboard when I was a young kid, I loved the "playing" aspect of it and used to come up with my own little ditties often, but I really hated the idea of "learning" the stave based system just didnt seem to sink in at that age.

a bit later on I begged my parents for an electric guitar and got one for Christmas, again on the condition that I took lessons.... at the time I think I would have been listening ot The Rocky Horror Show sound track and Alice Cooper....the music school I went to was all about the Jazz and Blues ....it sucked, I sucked !!!!

but the good news is I kept the guitar long after the lessons stopped, which meant that  when my friends uncle gave him an acoustic guitar just as Oasis and Blur were riding high on the charts, we had what we needed to form our first band.

after that, I guess there was no looking back , I was always playing in one form or another...first in bands, then solo....right up until the point I met someone making weird improvised dance type music out of a guitar and an touching the end of an open jack plug to create huge loops of feedback into a delay....it was the most exciting thing I had ever seen and I knew that this was what I wanted to be..... 15 years later and I am still a looper who sees the whole world through this loopy frame!!!
