Like most sentence in philosophy that begins with "the only", this is not correct. 
 
For instance, look up the doctrine of eternal reccurence in (among others) Nietzche's philosophy as one more example of philosophical investigation of repetition (on a cosmological scale).  Albert Camus's treatment of the myth of Sisyphus would also qualify, but the emphasis is not on repetition per se. Anyways, I could produce a faily long bibliography without too much bother...  are you familiar with the philosopher's index? It's a great resource for philosophical research, but you need to access it through a library that pays the licence.
