Interesting snippet of an interview with the avante garde turntablist, Christian Marclay "PSF: How did you pick out which records would be used? CM: They were just thrift store records --I never spent more than a dollar on a record. It was just junk, and I would stick things on them to MAKE THEM LOOP (sic). I even used an old wind-up gramophone that I found in the garbage. It was also at MassArt that I found these great turntables (Califone) that I've been using ever since. They used to be in every school's audio-visual department for instructional presentations. " Wonderfully creative and thought provoking interview. http://www.furious.com/perfect/christianmarclay.html Does anyone, perchance know if he was the experimental turntablist who was featured on that amazing music variety show Night Music that David Sanborn hosted in the late 80's-early 90's? I saw an artist who used colored wax and multiple turntables to create these wonderful and strange looping pieces of music. The needle would jump over the was and then loop back to it's original position. I've been googling for an hour looking for who this person was. Dr. Z. would have emailed me back in 10 minutes if he were here with five URLS........ :-( Happy Turkey (or Vegan Roll) day everyone!!! Rick
