When Sync=Out, the Echoplex sends out pulses through the BeatSync jack at the beginning of each loop cycle. When Sync=In, the Echoplex receives pulses through BeatSync and syncs itself to them. The pulse can be from any sort of source, a mic next to a drum, a metronome, a momentary switch, another echoplex, the pulse sync outputs of various pre-midi gear, any kind of line level audio pulse, etc. You can also trigger loops with BeatSync, that's fun too. Normally you would use BrotherSync to synchronize Echoplexes since it is nicely bidirectional, but you could use BeatSync if that wasn't an issue. It's in the manual, page 6-3: http://www.gibson.com/files/amps/EchoplexPlusManual12.pdf kim ______________________________________________________________________ Kim Flint | Looper's Delight kflint@loopers-delight.com | http://www.loopers-delight.com
