Why would you set it to Sync=out if you are trying >to receive sync? er.. because I read on LD that you had to use sync=Out to make brother-sync work :-) There were quite a few posts at one time. or was it the Loop3 manual? which says "All Echoplexes using Brothersync should set Sync=Out" and "Sync=In should not be used for BrotherSync" I don't remember, but I think I did try Sync=In and got it to work. (may have removed BrotherCable) This wasn't in a test situation, but while playing with a roomful of noisy loopers. >>I don't remember, as it was a while back and I didn't midi-sync again. >>...but I think I got around it by setting EDPs to Sync=In >>(may have taken out the brother sync) > >no, that's what you are supposed to do. Yep :-) just checked here, and have the stereo pair running with both on Sync=IN Works just as well as with Sync=Out I don't have it hooked up to check how they perform with incoming clock though. Would the Midi-sync override the BrotherSync? ( In which case I'd be unsurprised by a haas effect changing on each sync ) >>Sync=In disables brother sync ( as far as I know) > >nope. Jamming with others, when you have a stereo pair, has been a problem though. I hope to get it working if Bernhard Wagner brings his edp over on his next trip here. Starting a stereo pair doesn't produce 2 edps with exactly the same loop-start time, there's a slight delay due to the midi connection. They have exactly the same loop length, but are offset (although the audio itself is accurate) (hence the dramatic haas effect when reversing a stereo pair) I checked this out a while back, and can't re-check now, but I think this means that the Sync pulses from the 2 edps don't coincide. trying to sync the 3rd edp to them can have 2 possible results 1) loop slightly too short, by the amount of offset 2) (rare) very short loop equal to the amount of offset >kim thanks andy >
