I would add that a short press of the pedal erases the loop that's playing, with that feature the SOS becomes gigable. The thing is, are there any hidden difficulties with the SOS mode? (typical of Roland/Boss) >From the manual description, it *could* work smoothly as a "bare bones looper", or it might be that there's stuff like a gap before playback commences. I'm not familiar with the RC-20XL either, but I've seen a lot of people use it just to tap in single loops and overdub in a live situation. ..but all I hear about DD-20 is that the Delay Mode is more useful, no-one seems to actually use the SOS....which casts some doubt as to whether there's some problem with it. andy
