I'm mainly creating ambient/drone music. I use a Line 6 M13 but check
out the Line 6 M9. This is the the little brother of the M13, but is
much smaller but almost as powerfull. It contains 100 different good
quality stompbox effects in categories like distortions, delays,
filters and reverbs. You can setup 3 stomp boxes in series (M13: 4)
and it has a 28 second looper.

Drones: combine the "Analog delay" effect with80%-90% feedback at the
point it almost starts self-oscilating and add a reverb like "Partical
Verb", set the "Dwell" parameter to almost 100% and for extreme
effects, set the 5th parameter to "Critical" or "Hazard". I'm sure you
want one ;-)
