RE: Handsonic

hmmm interesting application your thinking of there...ive never used the LP1 but own both handsonics and use them as the hub of my sound set.

im confused as to what you are wanting to "start" on the handsonic?

cos while you can sequence its internal sounds, its much better as a intergrated controller/instrument in itself.

if you are meaning you would create sequences ON the handsonic, i would look elsewhere ...well not sure where...but the sequencer on the handsonic is the usual half thought through roland fare..

i dont know why all the roland products i have seem like three quarters of it was designed by a true invertor and musician... but the other quarter was designed by some work experiance boy??

btw if you are looking for precussion grooves that you prerecord in a sequence and then add to on the fly a great working combo that i use is the handsonic (either) and a korg  elecribe series machine (i use either an emx1 or a er1--mk2) my method is to have the handsonic sending midi notes to the drum machine to actually play the machine live...but also clocks getting sent from my echoplex to keep it in time with it, this way i can generate sequence data that is then editable in real time, but also play stuff on other instruments or some of the handsonics melody stuff like the glockenspiels into the echoplex.

its late here so if that makes no sense let me know more questions and ill come back to you on it.

I am thinking of getting a Handsonic HPD 10 or 15 and just wondered if any of ya'll have much experience with either?

One thing I really want it to do, which the simmons drum surface I got does not do, is to to accept an incoming midi start command from my LP1 so that I start a percussion groove and the LP1 record at the same time, with one button push from my Novation work surface.

In looking thru both manuals, the 15 does seem to suppory this, while the 10, maybe not so much.

Any of ya'll use or like either one?
