Re: Recording many parallel loops in one go (Re: more mobiusscripting help please)

well it was seeing your pedalboard layout and the "Record-Four-Tracks -In-One-Swoop" button that got me thinking. so as an experiment, i've set up a button that records 4 tracks simultaneously and pans them around the stereo field. i gently swell one note onto all four tracks and then i have 8 buttons set up that run scripts to rate shift all four tracks to create chords. you may be wondering why someone who plays a chordal instrument might want to do this, but it means i can set up "infinite" pads that last as long as i like...until i hit a button and change the chord to something else. sounds nice with some filtered delays to add some motion and smooth out the transition between chords. it's also interesting to use different sounds - a distorted guitar sound is nice, because the resulting chord is not itself distorted - rather like using a sampler.
the chords i have set up at the moment are all in the same key, but it might be fun to tweak the rate shifts a bit and get some more unusual sounds....

This is just how my experiment
happened to formalize and I would love to hear about others that
explore similar stuff!
