Re: New user of Ableton seeks help using it to replace loop pedals

pretty please... :)

I've not tried using LIVE's looping features but it would be interesting to see how others use it.

Do you use a FCB1010 for triggering?

What's the problem with Live's midi routing?

While it's possible to route midi to a plugin on a track it's
not intuitive. ..and then when the midi gets to your plugin it's all changed to Channel 1

I do have a HOWTO for sending midi to a plugin on an Ableton track,
(compiled with Per's help). If anyone needs that just ask.

Also, why would one have to mime the first loop?  Not doubting you, just not sure what you mean!

The Ableton looper doesn't let you set the tempo by tapping in the loop.
Workaround is to pre-record a first layer that works as a click track.

Consequently, miming the first loop is not unheard of.

But isn't that a bit over the top in this discussion answering a
person that wants to replace a Roland looping pedal with Ableton Live?

probably
There's no such nifty MIDI routing at all on those pedals! :-)

but midi control is usually needed for software looping... yes?
