Just want to add, for the record, that Ableton Live works fine as sync
slave through MIDI Clock since version 8. Before that it was too
flickery and lost sync easily if tempo changed abruptly, but now it's
fine.

To set up Live as a sync slave by MIDI Clock you need to do three things:

1. Go into Live's Preferences, the "MIDI Sync" tab, and select the
MIDI In port where the MIDI Clock is to be listened to. For internal
sync on a Mac you typically tic "IAC Driver", but you could also
select a USB MIDI input or any other externally connected MIDI
interface.

2. In Live's workspace click the "EXT" square at the upper left corner.

3. Feed it a MIDI Clock signal to hook up with.

...that's it!

In case you can't wee any "IAC Driver" as an input option in Live's
MIDI Sync pref's, then you need to first activate that on the Mac -
which is to be done with the "Applications / Utilities / Audio MIDI
Setup.app"
