Re: What's super exciting and new for loopers these days, especially software?

It’s certainly the one I was looking forward to diving into again. I toyed with Bidule running Mobius for a while there and mostly liked it, as a software looping only setup. It was super creative and good to learn/think about. But ultimately all that stuff is fun until it just kind of bogs you down.

So Per, since you're such a Mobius evangelist, could you not slap the Mobius people around a bit and bring them up to date? 2016 sounds like a good year for them to go 64bit ;) My ideal is to have my new system be full 64 bit, I'll soon add 16gb to hang with the big boys, and even if there are not many advantages, I don't wanna do 32bit bridging and stuff like that, and running stand-alone and having to bridge or rewire or whatever also seems archaic and too much of a headache..A reliable Mobious AU 64bit plugin with perhaps a cleaned up, bigger, more intuitive layout/skin would be da bomb..Imagine how many Boss/Roland/Rang/line6/TC customers they could steal with a more cleaned up look and the right marketing strategy...or maybe I'm just a dreamer.

Some thoughts on the 32 vs 64 bit conflict and software upgrades vs
obsolete apps:

Mobius is in fact a crash-course in tape music á la Musique Concrête.
It allows you to do on a laptop what the chaps at IRCAM did by the
early sixties with audio tape, glue and a pair of scissors. Learning
these traditional tape music techniques is not a waste of time because
when having that knowledge behind your forehead you can easily get
going with any gear in the future. Yes, we do live in the
"press-a-button-see-what-it-does" era, but don't let that restrict
your creativity!
